The military is  an often overlooked career path for students who are considering their futures after high school. For my exhibition, I made a video that focuses on why the military can be a good alternative to traditional college routes. I believe that the military offers many benefits that can greatly enhance a student’s career and personal development.

One of the primary advantages of joining the military is the educational benefits. Programs like the G.I. Bill and the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill provide financial support for higher education. These programs cover tuition, fees, and even provide a housing allowance, making it easy for service members to pursue college degrees without having to pay off pricey student loans. By taking advantage of these benefits, students can achieve their educational goals while serving their country.

The military offers training and career development opportunities unlike in many civilian careers. From technical skills to leadership training, the military prepares individuals for a wide range of professions. This training is not only valuable within the military but also with civilian employers. The skills developed in the military are assets that can open doors to various career paths after service. The experience gained through military service can provide a competitive edge in the job market.

Completing this project has influenced my own career choices, making me consider the military as a potential path. By sharing this information, I hope to help other students make informed decisions about their futures by considering all available options. The military should not be overlooked as a career option for students after high school.
