Looking for a new, delicious, and affordable place in Lincoln to eat sweet and savory meals? Located at 616 Smithfield Avenue, Maria’s Breakfast and Lunch checks all these boxes. It’s quickly becoming a popular local hotspot, thanks to its flavorful dishes and welcoming atmosphere.
I chose to review this restaurant due to its convenient location and rising popularity, shown by its constant crowds and frequent recommendations from friends and family. Maria’s offers a diverse menu with customizable meals that cater to everyone, even those with dietary restrictions. The menu features breakfast staples like pancakes, waffles, omelets, and French toast, along with hearty plates and sides like home fries. Lunch options include quesadillas, sandwiches, chicken dishes, and other popular items.
While the outside of the restaurant may not be particularly eye-catching, the inside gives off a warm and cozy vibe, almost like a small, homey cafe. The soft lighting is inviting, making it a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a meal. Due to Maria’s quality ratings and steady stream of customers, parking can be difficult at times, especially during busy hours.
When I visited Maria’s with my family, I ordered hot chocolate, as well as a ham, egg, and cheese croissant with a side of home fries. When the food arrived, it looked amazing, smelled incredible, and tasted even better. The fries were soft, salty, and seasoned with just the right amount of spice. The croissant was warm, savory, and incredibly appetizing, like a comforting homemade meal made with love.
While the food was outstanding, Maria’s does have one minor drawback. The service can be a bit slow. The servers are kind and considerate, but the wait time might test customers’ patience. However, the exquisite meal that ends up on your plate is worth the wait.
All in all, I give Maria’s a solid 5 stars for its flavorful food, cozy atmosphere, and wide selection of menu items. It’s a must-visit stop for anyone craving a satisfying homemade-style meal.
