Located just a few steps away from the school’s busy gymnasium, are the Lincoln Public Schools district’s administrative office. These offices may not be the most noticeable part of the campus, but they are certainly among the most important. They are headquarters for the people who help shape every Lincoln student’s academic experience from kindergarten through graduation.
The most notable figures in the administration building are Superintendent Dr. Filippelli and Assistant Superintendent Dr. McNamara, who work together to guide the district’s educational goals and manage the policies that affect students, teachers, and families. Dr. Filippelli oversees school performance, managing district-wide goals, and communicating with the school board, parents, and the broader community. Dr. McNamara mainly concentrates on curriculum and instruction, by collaborating closely with teachers and administrators to determine what students will study each academic year. From choosing math and science programs to integrating new technology into classrooms, he is essential in defining the educational landscape throughout the district.
But the administrative team doesn’t stop there. Within the building, many staff members are busy all year long helping different parts of the school system, such as human resources, student services, transportation, and curriculum development.
“The central office staff is critical to implementing the Superintendent’s vision for the district,” said Dr. McNamara. “For example, as we seek to improve our facilities, the School Business Administrator and Director of Facilities, Transportation and Security work hand in hand to support the School Committee’s plan for capital improvements.”
There are multiple offices located within the admin building that help ensure students have the best experience while attending Lincoln Public Schools. The business office manages money and payroll so schools have the staff and the supplies students need. “Our office reviews, processes, and executes all orders districtwide,” said accounting technician John Stevens. This includes copy paper, office supplies, special education equipment, etc.”
The facilities office, run by Anthony Feola, keeps the building safe and clean and helps with buses so students have a safe place to learn and reliable transportation. The tech office, led by Mark Gadbois, makes sure devices, internet, and security systems work to support learning and safety. The student services department provides support for students in need, and HR, which is led by Lisa Peck and is assisted by Tara Zinno, hires and supports staff, helping students learn from qualified teachers. All these offices work together to give students a safe, smooth, and supportive school experience.
Although students might know their teachers and principals better, it’s actually the efforts happening in the admin offices next to the gym that shape the overall learning experience throughout the district. With the dedicated workers in the administration building, the district is in good hands.
