Seeking a stimulating club that focuses on art and creativity? The Crafting Club is a new addition to Lincoln High School’s ever-growing list of after-school activities. Created by sophomore Michael Rao, the club encourages students to explore their artistry while also giving back to the community. The Crafting Club is open to all and offers a welcoming space to make friends and express your individuality. The first club meeting date will be October 27th.
Rao plans to host monthly gatherings where students can come together and participate in fun, hands-on activities such as card-making, decorating, DIY projects, and more. Additionally, crafts made by fellow club participants will serve their own meaningful purpose as they will be shared with people in need.
The Crafting Club sent out a Google Form after the freshman and sophomore club fair on October 2nd, with 15 interested students having already joined the club’s Google Classroom.
“I started this club to use our resources to spread positivity and hope to people who need it,” said Rao. “We will make crafts to donate to people who could use positivity in their lives. Students can learn how valuable kindness is, and can see the impact that an individual can make.”
Literacy teacher Jess Galla is serving as the club’s advisor.
“I think it’s great that Michaell wants to start this club,” Ms. Galla. “He thought there was a need for it, so I’m all for it. It’s a good spot for people to express their creativity and give back to others.”
So if you’re looking for a chance to indulge in creative activities while making a difference in the community, the Crafting Club checks off all these aspects and is ready to welcome new members with open arms.
