If you’re craving something comforting and flavorful, look no further than Rasoi, an Indian restaurant located in Pawtucket. This cozy restaurant serves up dishes bursting with spice, color, and warmth. I’ve been to Rasoi a few times, and feel like it hasn’t gotten the recognition it deserves, so I’m here to share this hidden gem with others.
The interior of the restaurant has lots of lively decoration; the blue and gold color scheme makes the restaurant look very sophisticated. It is also very spacious and clean, and there is also lots of visibility into the kitchen, so you can see food being cooked fresh.
When I went inside the restaurant was very empty but that was to be expected considering the time and day I went, a Tuesday afternoon. The waiter that seated me was very kind and provided very good service.
I first ordered a Chai masala, a tea brewed from black tea leaves mixed with a variety of spices and milk. It came very fast and was very warm. It was creamy, and I could taste every individual spice.
The menu was very extensive, with items ranging from Indian food from all parts of India. I chose the Chicken Biryani, which is spicy seasoned rice with chicken. The food came out quickly and was a big portion. The food was very warm, and had a very vibrant color. I was amazed by the flavor; the rice had a very nice kick to it, and the chicken was very tender. My mom was also with me and got her own food with a side of naan bread, a circular, flat, doughy piece of bread. The naan was also very good, and it had garlic brushed on it, which made it even better.
I really have no critiques for this restaurant. The service was great, the food was amazing, and the restaurant had an amazing ambiance. There is something for everyone with their variety of food including many vegetarian options as well.
I appreciated the wonderful service at Rasoi and loved all the food and drinks that I got. If you are into Indian food, or just want to expand your pallet I definitely recommend going to Rasoi, on 727 East Ave, in Pawtucket.
