As the end of the school year creeps closer and closer, seniors at LHS are making their final choices for college next year. A large number of students have been accepted to very prestigious colleges and universities this year, including an impressive trio accepted into Brown University. Donovan Conway, Lorelei Archambault, and Khadija Kouraj, all ranked in the top ten of their graduating class, will be attending Brown in the fall.
Brown University, a private Ivy League school, is known for its acceptance rate of 5.7%. Located in Providence, the prestigious school is generally considered the most prestigious state.

Conway, the 2026 valedictorian, is currently taking 4 AP classes while maintaining the top GPA in the class. Last year, he scored a 1510 on the SAT, a score very difficult to achieve. Conway expressed his excitement for the open curriculum Brown offers, and talked about his reaction when opening his letter.
“It was one of the last decisions I opened up after getting multiple waitlists, so no one was expecting it,” Conway said. “I had my family standing behind me when it happened and everyone was really excited for me.”

Kouraj talked about her acceptance process and what it looked like for her. Like Donovan, Khadija spent this school year taking multiple AP classes. After a few attempts, she scored a 1440 on her SAT. She was ranked seventh in her graduating class.
Khadija applied to Brown University through early decision, which meant that if accepted, she would withdraw from all her previously chosen schools. She explained her commitment to Brown and having no regrets about doing early admissions.
“I was pretty surprised when I got my acceptance letter because growing up, I always had this lofty, unachievable perception of what it took to be an Ivy League student,” Kouraj said. “I was in too much shock to fully process everything, and I’m still working on processing it completely now.”

LHS’s current senior class president, Lorelei Archambault will also be attending the university next fall. Archambault, who recently found out she was placed eighth in her grade, achieved a 1490 on her SAT, and had all As this school year in multiple AP classes. When the acceptance letter was released, Archambault had been at dance class, unaware of the results awaiting her. She explained her excited screams and shock regarding the letter.
The hard work of these students over their four years of high school will hopefully motivate others to do the same.
